CALL FOR ONE ACT PLAYS
Deadline for submission: March 1, 2020
Have you written a one act play? Ever wanted to write one?
Well, here’s your chance to possibly see your play on the stage at Black Rose Theatre! We are looking for local playwrights to fill our Night of One Acts in June 2020. Please read the following information, fill out the form below, and send it in with your play.
Anyone and everyone are eligible to participate. Simply follow the One Act guidelines to write your play, and submit it to us by March 1 at the One Act play submission email: email@example.com
Your play will go to an independent person who is not a member of the Play Selection Committee. This person will remove all identifying marks from the play, so when the Play Selection Committee reads it, no one will know who wrote it. This way, you can be sure plays will be chosen on the merit of the play and not upon who submitted it.
If you have questions about any of the guidelines or anything else having to do with the one acts, please send an email to the board at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please put the subject line as ONE ACTS.
Auditions for the one acts will be held in April 27, 2020 at the theatre. Production dates are June 4-7, 2020 – You will only have about 4 weeks for the cast to learn their parts and be ready to perform.
You can choose to direct your own play, or ask someone else to direct for you.
Please carefully follow the guidelines so your play is eligible for production at Black Rose Theatre:
Your play will be presented on the same stage and in the same evening/afternoon along with 3 or 4 others—back-to-back one acts! These guidelines are not to stifle anyone’s creativity, but rather to help everyone have the equal opportunity of the available time and space.
